Nation-wide event will feature lectures from renowned experts in the field
Boca Raton, Fla. (May 6, 2016) – The annual Neuroscience Symposium, “Interdisciplinary Care in Neuroscience: Breaking the Silos,” presented by Tenet Healthcare’s Florida Region and The Advanced Neuroscience Network (ANN), will take place on May 14 at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. A Neuro Nursing Symposium will be held the day prior on May 13 at the Renaissance Boca Raton Hotel. Both events will highlight the importance of using interdisciplinary teams to evaluate, diagnose and treat neurological disorders and offer continuing medical education credits.
“Due to the success and growth of our neuroscience programs in Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and Palm Beach, we decided to create the first regional symposium of The Advanced Neuroscience Network,” said Dr. Nils Mueller, medical director of ANN. “Following our motto of “Breaking down the Silos,” our program is designed to present physicians and allied professionals with a multi-disciplinary approach to the latest neuroscience developments, all while in a relaxing and enjoyable environment.”
This year, national speakers and experts from the extent of our network will speak on a variety of topics, such as hyperacute stroke management, neuroimaging in stroke, cognitive and movement disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease, Deep Brain Stimulation, advances in neurocritical care, minimally invasive neurosurgical approaches to brain tumors, and the expanding role of long-term video monitoring in epilepsy. Speakers will include neurologists, cardiologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists and intensivists to help bridge the divide amongst specialties and provide a broad perspective on the trends of the future. Panel discussions and question-and-answer sessions will allow for direct interaction between speakers and attendees.
“We are pleased to bring together some of the brightest minds and national leaders in the field of neurological research and care to inspire and share new ideas,” said Marsha Powers, CEO of Tenet Healthcare’s Florida region. “This is a great opportunity for healthcare providers within the community to network and learn from each other.”
