EEG & Long Term Video Monitoring (LTVM)

Our highly trained Epileptologists provide diagnostic services and treatment for adult patients with seizures and other brain disorders. An electroencephalogram (EEG) is a painless non-invasive procedure that is used to diagnose seizures and other brain disorders. An EEG measures and records the electrical brain activity by special small electrodes attached to the patient’s scalp. These small electrodes send signals to a computer to record the results. Our physicians also conduct long-term video monitoring (LTVM) in the hospital setting. LTVM’s are EEG’s which are used to continuously monitor the patient’s brainwave activity during the time of a seizure.

EMG & NCV Testing

We offer electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction velocity (NCV) testing to patients with neuromuscular diseases, such as spinal cord, nerve and muscle disorders. Using fine wire electrodes inserted into muscles, the EMG allows the physician to observe changes in electrical voltage that occur during movement/rest. The NCV assesses the nerve’s ability to send signals by using electrodes to send a small pulse of electricity to the nerve of a particular muscle.

MRI & MRA

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic resonance angiogram (MRA) are safe and painless diagnostic tests that provide detailed images using a powerful magnetic field rather than x-rays. Often these tests are requested to further assess diagnoses with more in-depth information. At our West Palm Beach location, we have our own in-house MRI so that patients can undergo diagnostic procedures in a comfortable office setting — where they can enjoy quick and efficient service and continuity of care.
